Return & Refund Policy
This Refund and Return Policy governs all purchases made through THE VAULT FINE FIREARMS LLC, doing business as THE VAULT (“Company,” “we,” “our,” or “us”), including purchases made through our website www.finefirearm.com, in-store, or through third-party Federal Firearms License (“FFL”) dealers.
By completing a purchase with us, you acknowledge and agree to the terms of this policy.
1. General Policy
All sales are subject to the terms outlined in this policy.
Under Florida Statute §501.142, retail establishments may establish their own refund and return policies provided those policies are clearly disclosed to consumers.
By placing an order with THE VAULT, you agree that these policies constitute the complete and controlling return and refund terms for your purchase.
We reserve the right to refuse returns, exchanges, or refunds that do not comply with this policy.
2. Firearms, Serialized Items, and Regulated Products (ALL SALES FINAL)
Due to federal and state regulatory requirements governing firearm transfers and serialized items, the following items are STRICTLY NON-REFUNDABLE AND NON-RETURNABLE once transferred:
- Firearms of any type
- Frames or receivers
- Serialized firearm components
- Suppressors / silencers
- Short-barreled rifles (SBR)
- Short-barreled shotguns (SBS)
- Any National Firearms Act (NFA) regulated item
- Any serialized item requiring ATF documentation
Once a firearm or serialized item has been transferred to the purchaser by the receiving FFL dealer, the transaction is final and irreversible.
THE VAULT FINE FIREARMS LLC does not offer refunds, returns, or exchanges for firearms, suppressors, or serialized items once the receiving FFL has completed the transfer to the purchaser.
This policy reflects compliance with federal regulations administered by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).
3. Orders Cancelled Before Firearm Transfer
If a firearm order is cancelled before the firearm has been transferred to the buyer, refunds may be issued subject to the following conditions:
- Cancellation must occur before ATF transfer paperwork is completed.
- A 20% restocking fee will apply.
- Payment processing fees are non-refundable.
- Shipping costs are non-refundable.
If a firearm has already been shipped to the selected FFL dealer, the customer is responsible for:
- return shipping costs
- insurance during shipment
- any FFL handling fees
- the 20% restocking fee.
4. Background Check Denials
If a purchaser is denied during a background check or otherwise becomes legally ineligible to receive a firearm:
- The firearm cannot be transferred to the denied purchaser.
- Refunds may be issued minus:
- shipping charges
- payment processing fees
- FFL transfer fees
- the 20% restocking fee
The buyer is responsible for coordinating the lawful return of the firearm through the receiving FFL dealer.
5. Suppressors and NFA-Regulated Items
Suppressors and other National Firearms Act (NFA) items are subject to federal regulatory approval and extended transfer processes.
For this reason:
- All suppressor and NFA item sales are final.
- Orders cannot be cancelled once ATF paperwork has been submitted.
- No refunds will be issued for delays related to ATF processing times.
If an NFA transfer cannot be completed due to legal ineligibility, the item must be handled through lawful transfer procedures as required by federal law.
6. Ammunition
For safety and regulatory reasons:
All ammunition sales are final.
Ammunition cannot be returned, refunded, or exchanged once it has left our facility.
7. Optics, Accessories, Apparel, and Non-Serialized Merchandise
Non-serialized merchandise may be returned under the following conditions:
Eligible items may include:
- optics
- accessories
- apparel
- sporting goods equipment
- non-serialized firearm parts
Return conditions:
- Return request must be submitted within 7 days of delivery
- Item must be unused and in original packaging
- All manuals, accessories, packaging, and tags must be included
- Proof of purchase is required
Items that show signs of use, installation, or modification may be refused.
Shipping costs are non-refundable unless the return is due to an error on our part.
8. Defective or Damaged Merchandise
If an item arrives damaged or defective, customers must contact us within 48 hours of delivery.
We may request:
- photographs of the item
- photographs of packaging
- additional documentation.
Defective products may be handled under the manufacturer’s warranty where applicable.
9. Shipping Refusals
Refusing delivery of a shipment does not constitute a valid return.
Orders refused during delivery may be subject to:
- return shipping charges
- restocking fees
- payment processing fees.
10. Chargebacks and Fraud Prevention
Customers agree not to initiate a payment dispute or chargeback for purchases that comply with this policy.
Improper chargebacks may result in:
- permanent account termination
- refusal of future sales
- civil recovery of losses
- reporting to payment processors.
THE VAULT reserves the right to dispute all chargebacks using transaction records and acknowledgment of this policy.
11. Compliance with Consumer Protection Laws
This policy is written in compliance with applicable consumer protection laws including:
- Florida Statute §501.142 – Retail Refund Disclosure Law
- Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act
If any provision of this policy is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the liability of THE VAULT FINE FIREARMS LLC related to any purchase shall not exceed the amount paid for the product.
We are not responsible for:
- misuse of products
- improper installation
- compatibility issues
- manufacturer defects outside warranty coverage.
13. Policy Updates
We reserve the right to modify this policy at any time.
Changes become effective immediately upon posting to www.finefirearm.com.
